EVENT: A Partnership in Creating Great WOMEN

Gone are the days that women are ‘supposed’ to be staying home and do household chores for her family. In this day and age, women are more empowered and independent in achieving the best of what they want to become.

Last February 21, 2013 (Thursday), a friend invited me to attend the press launch of Women in Media’s ECHOsi Foundation ‘The Great Women’ project at the Milkyway Café in Makati.

ECHOsi background:

A partnership collaboration by the Philippine Commission on Women – GREAT  Women Project and ECHOsi Foundation (Enabling Communities with Hope and Opportunities Sustainable Initiatives) in creating great women, by formulating specialty products and building a Women-led enterprise.

The event was organized by Shark Media, hosted by none other ECHOsi’s President, Ms. Jeannie Javelosa.

The press launch basically discussed about ECHOsi becoming a brand of local women’s products. Not only is it a brand, but through the brand it will create employment and income opportunities for Women and their local communities in – Quezon, Metro Naga in Camarines Sur, Bohol, Iloilo, Leyte, Davao del Sur and PALMA+PB Alliance in North Cotobato.

Ms. Pacita Juan – President, Women’s Business Council of the Philippines, ECHOstore

The press launch was also graced by the Ambassador of Canada to the Philippines.

His Excellency, Mr. Christopher Thornley

We were seated with one of the top ECHOsi’s challengers Ronavelle Amen from Iloilo, who continuously  makes her mother’s legacy recipe of all peanut products. We were given different samples and one of which was her sugar coated peanuts. IMG_4968

There were three developers who came to share their stories of their success. All of their products will also be exported out of the country too. They actually have a lot of products to showcase, but given the limited time we had, it was announced that all developers will have their own product launch on March 19 at RCBC, Yuchengco – Makati.

For more details about the organization you may check out: The Philippine Commission on Women

For products: You may check out ECHOstores and Tesoro outlet’s by March.
